ALKINOIS PROJECT SPACE PRESENTS “A HOUSE IS NOT A HOME” BY MARIANNE BERENHAUT
Alkinois, Georgia René-Worms, and Alix Janta present “A House Is Not a Home”, the first solo exhibition of Marianne Berenhaut in Greece. Berenhaut (b. 1934, Brussels) has spent over 60 years developing a unique visual language focused on nostalgia, trauma, and memory.
Her sculptures, often made from found and mended objects, reflect a deep tenderness and gravity.
This exhibition, which spans from iconic installations to recent works, is not a retrospective but a living perspective of her ongoing artistic evolution. The simplicity of the installations evokes a dark, raw intensity, revealing the genius of an artist who can capture the full emotional range of childhood trauma and memory with such understated elegance. The details, subtle yet profound, are nothing short of mind-blowing.
