PETROS EFSTATHIADIS AND MARINA VELISIOTI PRESENTS ‘OTHER SUNS OTHER PLANETS’
Bright color palettes and organic textures collide beautifully in the luminous, open space of Dio Horia Acropolis Art Gallery, where the works of Marina Velisioti and Petros Efstathiadis come together in a playful yet thoughtful conversation.
Velisioti draws from science fiction, fringe histories, and cosmic symbolism to create vivid, sculptural portals. With neon tones and playful geometries echoing the Memphis Group’s 1980s aesthetic, her work balances humor and mystery, the futuristic and the ancient. Efstathiadis builds ephemeral structures from discarded materials found in his village. Captured in photographs before they vanish, these fragile constructions become poetic monuments—blending absurdity, tenderness, and a deep connection to place.
Despite their formal differences, both artists share a desire to imagine other ways of being—through fiction, fantasy, or simple material play. Their works gently dismantle what we take for granted, offering moments of escape, reflection, and refreshing new perspective.
