MISC GALLERY PRESENTS ‘THE EMBER’S SONG’ CURATED BY SYLVIA SACHINI & FLORENT FRIZET

12.03.2025 - 25.04.2025

MISC ATHENS THE EMBERS SONG

Fire is never still. It devours, transforms, and purifies. It consumes and creates, leaving traces in its wakeon bodies, collective memories, and heartly landscapes.

The Embers Song delves into fires paradoxical power, drawing on its capacity for both violent destruction and radical transformation. It echoes Georges Batailles notion of expenditurethe way energy is spent, irreversibly. These works explore fire in its many states: sudden and spectacular, slow and insidious, sacred and rebellious. From the frozen motion of a galloping horse to the quiet release of breath in ceramic form, fire is shown as both a process of annihilation and a moment of creation.

This exhibition resonates with the thoughtful and distinctive program of MISC Athensa space committed to presenting contemporary art that engages deeply, both visually and conceptually. The Embers Song extends this vision, offering a quiet intensity and poetic force that lingers long after the flame fades.

Featuring works by Victor Le Guennec, Alexandra Rose Howland, Kyveli Zoi, Natalia Manta, Irini Miga, Yoshi Kametani, Katarzyna Wojtczak, Panagiotis Kefalas, Mark Geffriaud, Nikolas Ventourakis, and Zoi Pirini.
