NADJA ARGYROPOULOU PRESENTS “THE COLLECTIVE PURR”, PART I
Curated by the ever-punk and beautifully rebellious Nadja Argyropoulou, “The Collective Purr” takes place in the stunning Nobel Building, one of Athens’ most striking examples of brutalist architecture. This exhibition and public program delve into the more-than-human existence, exploring its hums, contradictions, and unpredictable twists.
Inspired by an astrophysicist’s concept of “the collective purr,” the show reflects on the poetry in science and the queerness of the cosmos, highlighting the potential of the unknown.
Expanding on themes from the Outraged by Pleasure exhibition (Fall 2023), The Collective Purr addresses resistance, defiance, and leaderless movements for justice and freedom. Through a series of events and artworks, it invites us to consider small acts of rebellion—whether a flicker, hum, or roar—as part of a radical, interconnected world.
Participating artists: Christos Adrianopoulos, Babak Ahteshamipour, Athanasios Argianas, ANOSIA x Tassos Vrettos, Paul Chan, Pauline Curnier and more.
