René Habermacher’s “NEW DIGs” exhibition offer a striking exploration of the intersection between human gender, technology, and the impactful world of archeology. Through his lens, the digital age is brought to life with a raw, almost tactile quality, capturing fragmented moments of ancient existence.
His images juxtapose the cold precision of technology with organic, human gestures. Habermacher’s use of color, texture, and composition is both visceral and poetic,
The title originates from Rene’s photographs depicting fake reconstructions of archaeological scenarios and found excavations, that he arranges into boxes that he photographs. Among the elements featuring the exhibition, Trans-Herma statues appear proudly standing among our path, as if we were re-discovering totems from another unknown time and possible existing new civilizations and beliefs.
