CAN GALLERY PRESENTS “ABANDONED CARTOGRAPHIES AND OTHER ODD HOURS”

4.04.2025 - 10.05.2025

Abandoned Cartographies and Other Odd Hours opens at Christina Androukidaki’s Athenian-New York-inspired space, where it delves into the hidden depths of the subconscious. The exhibition’s exploration of irrational, buried emotions extends into the gallery’s basement, where the underground space enhances the themes of hidden desires and unspoken anxieties, adding a raw, visceral layer to the experience.

The works transcend traditional Surrealism, creating a tension between the self and the external world. They invite viewers to navigate fragmented, dreamlike landscapes where perception bends and reality distorts, encouraging free association and open interpretation.

A dynamic mix of media—painting, sculpture, photography, poetry, and more—gives the exhibition its elusive, ever-shifting nature. Featuring artists like Elli Antoniou, Despina Charitonidi, Socrates Farouros, James Fuller, Sampanav Kaul, and Yorgos Yatromanolakis, it’s an immersive journey into the unknown, where meaning slips through the cracks, leaving space for introspection.
